The chances of a 2020 Tour de France taking place are beginning to look slimmer and slimmer.
French prime minister Edouard Philippe said that no sporting events will take place before Sept. 1. He also said that the 2020 football and rugby seasons have been completely canceled.
The statements are a blow to hopes that the Tour de France will go on this year. The race was originally postponed to Aug. 29-Sept. 20.
